Notice of Property Tax Increase

NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

 

The Dade County Board of Commissioners has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 4.44 percent.

All concerned citizens are invited to the first public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Dade County Courts Facility, Courtroom #1 located at 255 West Crabtree Street, Trenton, Georgia on July 19, 2018 at 12:00 p.m.

All concerned citizens are invited to the second public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Dade County Administrative Building, Commission Public Meeting Room #259 located at 71 Case Avenue, Trenton, Georgia on July 19, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.

Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the Dade County Administrative Building, Commission Public Meeting Room #259 located at 71 Case Avenue, Trenton, Georgia on July 26, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. 

No increase/decrease will result in an unincorporated millage rate of 8.484 mills, an increase of 0.000 mills.  Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 8.484 mills.  The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $100,000 is approximately $0.00 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $300,000 is approximately $0.00.

This tentative increase will result in an incorporated millage rate of 10.952 mills, an increase of 0.127 mills.  Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 10.825 mills.  The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $100,000 is approximately $5.08 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $300,000 is approximately $15.24.
