Dade County Economic Development Director William Back announced that the Dade County IDA has been awarded a $5,000 grant from Georgia Power Community and Economic Development to assist with expenditures for a hotel/motel feasibility study.
The tourism industry in Georgia is the 5th largest employer in the state with a total economic impact of $60.8 billion, supporting more than 450,200 jobs.
Notably, our Tennessee neighbor, Hamilton County hit $1.1 billion in direct visitor spending.
“Dade County will benefit from another hotel to support our tourism infrastructure,” said Back.
With this grant, the Dade County IDA will receive vital demographic information for the County, evaluate market conditions, and identify growth opportunities to entice hotel operators to build here.
