ALL OF ELECTION

TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF

DADE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT, GEORGIA

The Dade County Election Superintendent and the Dade County Board of Education hereby call a special election to be held on March 16, 2021, at the regular polling places in all the election districts of Dade County at which time there will be submitted to the qualified voters of Dade County for their determination the question of whether a special sales and use tax for educational purposes of one percent shall continue to be levied, imposed and collected on all sales and uses in Dade County for a period of time not to exceed twenty (20) calendar quarters, beginning with the calendar quarter following the calendar quarter in which the sales and use tax for educational purposes presently in effect expires, and for the purpose of raising not more than $16,000,000 of net proceeds by said tax, which shall go to the Dade County School District for the purpose of (i) demolishing, adding to, renovating, repairing, improving, equipping, and furnishing existing school buildings or other buildings or facilities useful or desirable in connection therewith including, but not limited to, HVAC, roofing, electrical, paving, fencing, cafeterias, flooring, and including an elementary school addition; (ii) acquiring new technology equipment, software, security and safety equipment, and other school equipment; (iii) purchasing textbooks and band instruments; (iv) acquiring, constructing, and equipping new school buildings and facilities, including a new multipurpose facility; (v) purchasing school buses, school vehicles, drivers education vehicles and maintenance equipment; (vi) acquiring land; and (vii) acquiring any property necessary or desirable therefor, both real and personal, with the maximum cost of the projects described in items (i)-(vii) payable from said tax being $16,000,000; (viii) paying any general obligation debt of the School District issued in conjunction with the imposition of such sales and use tax; and (ix) paying the expenses incident to accomplish the foregoing.

 RULE 183-1-14-0.7-.15 - Beginning at 8:00 a.m. on the third Monday prior to Election Day, county election superintendents shall be authorized to open the outer envelope of accepted absentee ballots, remove the contents including the absentee ballot, and scan the absentee ballot using one or more ballot scanners, in accordance with this rule, and may continue until all accepted absentee ballots are processed. However, no person shall tally, tabulate, estimate or attempt to tally, tabulate or estimate or cause the voting equipment to produce any tally or tabulation, partial or otherwise, of the absentee votes cast until the time for the closing of the polls on Election Day.
