Millage Rate Public Hearing Number Two

NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE 

The Dade County Board of Commissioners has tentatively adopted a 2025 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 10.57% in the Unincorporated area and 17.28% in the Incorporated area.

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Dade County Administrative Building, Commission Public Meeting Room #259 located at 71 Case Avenue, Trenton, Georgia on August 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the Dade County Administrative Building, Commission Public Meeting Room #259 located at 71 Case Avenue, Trenton, Georgia on August 27, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.

This tentative increase in the Unincorporated area will result in a millage rate of 7.750 mills, an increase of 0.741 mills.  Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 7.009 mills in the Unincorporated area.  The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $100,000 is approximately $29.64 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $300,000 is approximately $88.92.

This tentative increase in the Incorporated area will result in a millage rate of 9.9502 mills, an increase of 1.4662 mills.  Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 8.484 mills in the Incorporated area.  The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $100,000 is approximately $58.65 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $300,000 is approximately $175.94.
